Sinhgad Institute of Management (SIOM), Vadgaon

Location:

Sinhgad Institute of Management is located in Sinhgad Vadagaon campus. It is in a very remote and inaccessible area.  PMT buses drop you on the highway; from there you have to walk 1.5km on a steep road. Bus frequency is also too bad, so you have to strictly follow the schedule. Most of the crowd travel by their own vehicle or prefer to stay on the college hostel.

Infrastructure:

The campus is vast and houses as many as 50 colleges in it. College has all the basic amenities and facilities like library, labs, and classrooms with projectors. Campus is Wi-Fi enabled, so you can freely surf the net from anywhere on from the campus.

Hostels are available for Boys and girls both. Students are pleased with the hostel infra; they’re decent enough to stay for two years. The main complaint is about the food in the mess. But for that there are so many other options on campus like Amul café, canteens of other colleges. Hostel charges are 50,000/- a year.

NRIs are charged more for the hostel and are given better rooms and other facilities in return.

• MBA in Marketing
• MBA in Operations
• MBA in Personal Management

Fees and Placements:

Rs. 1,50,000 per year.

Placements are not something great, but they are way better than average standards in Pune. Over 90% students get placements. Marketing has better placements compared to operations. Average salary is 3 to 3.5 lakhs per annum. Tata motors, Axis Bank, Bajaj Allianz are some of the main recruiters.
Summer placements are provided for marketing only.

Faculty:

Faculties for marketing are really good and have a lot of experience in teaching as well as industry. However Operational students have a few complaints about their faculties.

Seminar and Industry interaction:

First years have seminars on every weekend, which they’ve to compulsorily attend.

Crowd and Campus life:

Majority of the crowd are not Pune-ites, but they come from all parts of Maharashtra.

Festival:

Sinhgad 'Karandak' is the annual cultural cum sports festivals, in which all the Sinhgad colleges participate.
