Final Year Project : I was working on a research project , MPLS implementation and analysis of layer 2 VPNs, It was a project under Prof.Saraf from IIT B.

Letter of Recommendations: Three LORs.
Hemal Naik - Vice President,Nomura - avoid professional recos they dont count much if you dont have 2-3 years work experience. I also got it from two contarct based teachers that is not good the only fault in my profile. A letter from PhD will be great.
Extra-curricular: I made a website smart city on a model which other cities could use it for the benefit of their citizens. I also worked on a project with www.stupidsid.com for their database management.
Work Experience/Internship:

Preparation
GRE:
I took GRE in the 6th semester. I did all the words thoroughly and concentrated a lot on the verbal section as I was weak in it. I did Kaplan and Nova. I didn't do quant at all but that is not advisable.
I did join a counsellor but I consider it as the biggest mistake I have made. Trust me counsellors are not needed, they are just a waste of money.
SOP:
I stressed on why I wanted that university , the projects there and professors I would like to work with . I also related how my past project matches with the current research of that professor.
I selected OSU as it ranked well and also the other options I had were a bit expensive.
Advice to Juniors
I would advise everyone to do the words properly. Don't join the counsellors, they are the biggest waste of money and you shall realize it as soon as you join them. Trust me there is no need for them, ask your seniors if you have any doubt, stupidsid is also there now, you can ask it here. Dont succumb to peer pressure and join counsellor.
