Dr. DY Patil Institute of Masters of Computer Applications, Akurdi

Location:

DY Patil Institute of MCA is located in Akurdi, very near the station. It is far from the highway that is where the buses drop you so bus is not an option. The college is located near the D.Y. Patil educational complex, but it is not in the same campus.

Infrastructure:

Some of the classrooms have AC. Library stands out here, which is air-conditioned as well as contains all the books required by the students here. The hostel facility is available only for girls.

The MCA and MBA department (which of course has been started recently) share the building, out of which MCA get better facilities than MBA.

Fees and placements:

The fee is Rs 65,000 per year.

60-70% students get placed. The average package offered to the students is around 2.7 lakhs, whereas the highest that they obtain is 4.5 lakhs.

Courses:

Marketing Management, Telecom Management, HR Management.

Faculty:

Only a few of them have a good experience. Overall the faculty is average and definitely not on the better side.

Seminars and industry interaction:

Seminars are conducted every alternate day, but they are not something what students look forward to. The students attend them as just mere formality, they are clueless as to who is taking the seminar and what is the topic.

Crowd and campus life:

The crowd is a good mixture of people from all over the country. There are some events happening on the college, sport events and inter-college quizzes to name a few.

Festivals:

'Fusion' is the festival held in the month of March.

Verdict:

Not upto the reputation of other DY Patil institutes. The standard of teaching needs to improve.
