Yashwantrao Mohite College of Arts, Science and Commerce

Location:

Yashwantrao Mohite (YM) College for Arts, Science and Commerce is located slightly off the main road in Erandwane which makes it pretty much accessible by PMT buses as well as private vehicles.

 

Infrastructure:

The college is under the Bharati Vidyapeeth administration and there are hardly some complaints as far as infra is concerned. Labs are well equipped and classrooms are clean and maintained properly.

 

Faculty:

The students claim that the chemistry faculty isn't very appreciable; rest of the departments are satisfactory. Many senior professors are ex-faculty from reputed colleges in Mumbai and are good at expressing their knowledge.

 

Attendance:

Parents of the students are informed if attendance is low; no further action is taken. So if you can take your parents into confidence there's nothing to stop you from bunking more lectures.

 

Crowd:

Students come from all parts of the country and even abroad.

 

Canteen:

There are a number of colleges in this campus, and they all share a common canteen. From the outside, it seems pretty big, but only once you enter and see the multitudes of students inside, do you realize how tiny it is for the number of people it caters to. But the size aside, it’s pretty good. The food is normally hot, and more importantly, reasonable.

 

Hangouts:

The extremely popular Durga Coffee is a very common hangout, and students will never cease to remind you that they go only to the ‘original’ Durga. Apart from that, you can always find people in the Deccan area, as well as the regular suspects like McDonalds and Dominoes, which are nearby.

 

Festivals:

Except for a small cultural gathering and a sports festival there's nothing else for recreation at Yashwantrao Mohite College of Arts, Science and Commerce.

Yashwantrao Mohite (YM) College of Arts, Science and Commerce is a pleasant place to be if you can't make it to the top colleges. Unlucky chaps who've scored below average in their boards, can happily opt for this college.
