Location :
Dr. DY Patil Institute of Management & Research (DYPIMR) is located off the Mumbai-Pune Highway in Pimpri. Although a number of PMT buses ply on the highway, travelling by buses is quite inconvenient because the college is a good 20 minute walk from the where the bus drops you. A vehicle is always preferable.
Infrastructure:
Dr. DY Patil Institute of Management & Research (DYPIMR) is hosted in a single building, or just the top floor of the building to be frank, but the infrastructure is such that you get the feel of an MBA institute. The classrooms are big and clean with up-to-date benches. Students are allowed to browse through the books in the library and finally select the one they find the best, unlike many other institutes where the student has to ask for a particular book without being allowed to go through it. The campus is shared among few other sister institutes.
Fees & Placements :
The institute charges a fee of Rs. 76,000/- per annum. Placements are decent enough with an average salary of Rs. 2.5 lakh/year and the highest being close to Rs. 5 Lakh/year. With the efforts of the college, a good number of companies visit the campus and around 30-40% students get placed. Students opting for marketing easily get summer internships.
Faculty :
The students are totally satisfied with the faculty which comprise of mostly senior professors with atleast 5-10 years of experience. “Even if a few students complain about a particular teacher, the management takes immediate action”, says one of the students. Frequency of guest lectures is just one per month, but it is conducted in grand style at Kalasagar hotel.
Seminars & Industry Interaction :
The students go for industrial visits once or twice a year and find a good learning experience. Previous year the students visited the Parle G factory in Mumbai and also the Oxyrich manufacturing unit.
Crowd and Campus Life:
Majority of the students are non-Maharashtra candidates coming from all parts of the country like Rajasthan, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. Attendance is strict but only for disciplinary reason and the students do not face any kind of harassment. Defaulters are fined or made to write extra assignments and their internal marks are also affected. “Anand Nagari” is the festival celebrated with great enthusiasm around Jaunary.
