GT Group of Institutions' College of Management, Sunkadakatte

Location:

GT College of Management is located on the Magadi road near Sunkadakatte. There is good accessibility by BMTC buses to major parts of city. It is a little far from the centre, so many students prefer staying at hostels to save on travelling time.


Infrastructure:

GT College of Management has got very nice infrastructure. There is a good sized campus with newly constructed buildings. There are air-conditioned classrooms, projectors and all other facilities needed by the students. They have a huge library with more than 10,000 books and journals. There are many copies of books for all subjects but sometimes you don’t find a specific author. High speed Wi-fi internet is also there and you can use it freely.
Hostels are available. Girls’ hostel is in the campus while boys’ hostel is across it. The charges for hostel are Rs 1,000 per month without food. The food available in the canteen is edible and affordable.


Fees & Placements:

Fees at GT College of Management are Rs 75,000 per year for PG-CET students.
Placements can be said to be average. Companies like JP Morgan, Ernst & Young (E&Y), HDFC, Future Group and Arvind Mills are usual recruiters. About 45% - 50% students managed to secured a job with average salary of 2.5 Lakh while the highest package offered was 3.4 Lakh.


Faculty:

Majority of the permanent staff are very experienced with some having as much as 40 years of experience in industry and teaching combined. Visiting faculty are also invited to take 1 or 2 subjects. Usually they’re from reputed colleges in Bangalore and conduct 2 to 3 lectures per week.

Seminars and Industry interaction:

Seminars or guest lectures are conducted by prominent persona from corporate world twice a month.
An industrial visit is organized for second year students by GT College of Management. Last batch had gone to Mumbai and Pune.

Crowd & Campus life:

Most of the crowd hails from various parts of Karnataka. It is a little stressful during first year as you’re new to the system and it becomes tough handling workload. Also attendance is particularly strict during first year. In second year it’s comparatively easy as you get used to things and attendance is also not that big an issue.

Festivals:

There are no management festivals. But a cultural festival is held in March whose name changes each year. Their annual day is called ‘GT Fiesta’ is also during the festival. There is also a state level conference arranged in March.

Verdict:

GT‘s management college is a comparatively new institution and it has a lot of potential to get better. The infrastructure is very good and results are also good. The placements are expected to improve as the college builds up reputation.
