Location:
East West Institute of Technology (EWIT) is located in the outskirts of Western Bangalore off Magadi Road. Numerous buses do ply along the Magadi Road, but its not all that easy to reach the college from every part of the city. Additionally BMTC buses drop you on the main road from where the college is another 15-20 minutes walk. Bus facility is provided by the college at about Rs. 10,000/- a year, in which you would not have to worry about much of the above.
Infrastructure:
The campus of East West Group of Institutions is sufficiently big and hosts few other sister institutes such as the management, pharmacy and PU colleges along with the Institute of Technology. Although everything looks just fine from the outside (nice glass adorned buildings, open grounds and a park), things are a little different inside. Students are of the opinion that maintenance is lacking - not enough water purifiers, slightly unhygienic washrooms and a well built library with shortage of some essential books. Hostel facilities (fees for which are close to Rs. 45,000/- a year) are even worse and those who've experienced it, recommend its best to stay some place else.
Fees:
For Karnataka CET students: Rs. 33,000/- VTU fees + Rs. 21,000/- college fees
For UGET (COMEDK) students: Rs. 1.25L/- VTU fees + Rs. 21,000/- college fees
*Both of the above are approximate annual fees
Faculty:
The faculty is said to be above average for nearly all the branches except for the newly started streams of Civil and EEE which have a lot of inexperienced young teachers. Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering and CS Engineering are relatively much better than all others - senior profs with good knowledge of their subjects.
Attendance:
Fines varying from Rs. 1,000/- to Rs. 15,000/- are levied for having attendance anything below 75% and proportional to the short in attendance. Students with attendance well below 50% are barred from exams.
Crowd:
Friendly & approachable faces are seen all around the campus. Some come from North India, some more from South India and a majority from Bangalore itself. "I stay with people from the north when it’s fun & recreation time and switch over to those from the south when it comes to studies" says a 'smart' student.
Canteen:
There's just one common canteen for all the colleges at the East West Group of Institutions campus but it serves really good food. It falls short of some space but they try to minimize the difficulty by keeping more standees than chairs and tables and also by arranging timetables of various institutes in a manner that lunch times don't clash.
Hangouts:
There's nothing outside the campus (in a radius of about 5 kms) except for vast stretches of empty land. Students generally just chill around in "The Park" or the basketball court or the canteen - everything inside the campus.
Festivals:
An inter college cultural fest is organized by students of East West Institute of Technology (EWIT) sometime in April every year.
Placements:
Close to 60% of the students get placed on the whole with CS, IS and Electronics recording more than 75% placements. Not the same can be said about the Civil and Mechanical branches as they hardly witness such high percentage of placements. Major recruiters are TCS, HCL offering average salaried of Rs. 3-3.5L per year. No MNCs or very high salary offerings are made.

Verdict:
East West Institute of Technology (EWIT) is not the best Engineering college around but it isn't too bad to settle for either.
