Marathwada Mitra Mandal's Institute of Technology (MMIT), Lohgaon
Location:
Marathwada Mitra Mandal's Institute of Technology (MMIT), Lohgaon definitely has a picturesque location, but its not very accessible. Its about four kms away from the airport, but that isn’t saying much, as the airport itself is a good 12-15 kms from central Pune. Bikes and cars are the usually preferred modes of transport, perhaps because there ARE no other alternatives.
Infrastructure:
The classrooms are massive, similar to auditoriums and overall the infrastructure at MMIT is first class. But although the campus is pretty huge, it still lacks a playground. There are two separate hostels for boys and girls, having an intake of about 150 and 80 students respectively.
Fees:
Rs. 70,081/ year
Faculty:
Students say that the faculty is either really good or really bad. Communication with faculty members often takes place in Marathi, which may be a problem for non-marathi-speaking students.
Attendance:
They are quite strict about the attendance at Marathwada Mitra Mandal's Institute of Technology (MMIT), Lohgaon. Parents are called, and fines levied, if attendance falls below 75%.
Crowd:
While the students are pretty cooperative, and there is a great spirit of togetherness among them, they all agree to the fact that the crowd is quite ‘village-like’. There is a serious lack of pretty faces around.
Hangouts:
There is a fantastic place called Splash mountain nearby, and students often hang out there. For others, the hillside itself is like a picnic spot. There is a famous kebab-joint called Khansama, and students flock there in numbers. But for more posh food or coffee outlets, you'll need to take a half-hour drive on your bike from Marathwada Mitra Mandal's Institute of Technology (MMIT), Lohgaon to reach to good place.
Placements:
Marathwada Mitra Mandal's Institute of Technology (MMIT), Lohgaon started admissions from 2008 and expecting phenomenal placements for the first batch would be irrational & stupid. However, the college managed to place less than 20 students from a batch of 300; a little low even for a new college. Synechron picked up a total of about 8 people from IT, Comps & E&TC; while few others from these streams were placed into Hexaware, AGS Technologies & Tech Mahindra. Another 8-10 students from Mechanical were placed in Manitowoc.
