Dr. DY Patil Institute of Engineering and Technology, Pimpri

Dr. DY Patil Institute of Engineering and Technology (DYPIET) is located right behind the Mumbai Pune highway (old) in Pimpri. Traveling by buses is a little inconvenient, because although a number of buses ply on the highway, the college is a 20 minute walk from the bus stops. A vehicle is always preferable.

Provision for internet access has been made available and they have Wi-fi enabled labs but usage is restricted. Classrooms are decent and lectures can be spent sitting without hurting your bums. The labs & the library are manageable too. Parts of the campus are still coming up though. The college hostel is OK, at best. Boys and girls rooms are available at a cost of Rs. 40,000/- per year.

Rs. 80,040/ year

Dr. DY Patil Institute of Engineering and Technology (DYPIET) can actually boast of smart distribution in teaching if not the best of faculty. This is because the difficult subjects are taught by the good and extremely knowledgeable senior professors. Junior professors teach only the ‘doable’ subjects. The teachers are helpful to students.

Moderately strict. Below 75%, and you’ll be fined. However, students with genuine reasons are exempted from it. If you miss a mid-term test you will be fined with around Rs. 1000/-

There are few localities from Pune. Majority of the crowd is from other parts of Maharashtra. So it's a mix of urban as well as semi-urban people at DY Patil College of Engineering, Pimpri.

There is a McDonald’s nearby, where students often hang out. Other than this, there is Big Cinema, E-square, and something called Dakshin. The "golawala" right outside the college is quite popular.

There is no canteen which the college can call its own. Although this may come as a shocker for many students, only hostelites get the liberty to use the canteen as it's part of the hostel. Others have to manage somehow. However, recently even this only canteen happened to shutdown and there's sign of reopening it as yet. Students have to rely on numerous food stalls outside the college.

The technical festival of Dr. DY Patil Institute of Engineering and Technology is called Zion. The Cultural fest is held sometime in March. The sports festival is called Parakram.

The placements are okay, nothing great. Average salary for the previous three years is about 2.8 lac/annum. No big companies with hefty salary slips are known to visit the campus and the maximum salary is usually just a little more than the average salary at 3.1 lac/annum. TechMahindra recruits people in numbers, but that’s about it. E&TC has the best placements in terms of number of students placed followed by Computers and Electronics. A few very lucky ones get placed from the Instrumentation Department.

Not great, not very bad either. Could, and maybe should, be avoided.

This is the worst college I have ever seen in my life... college campus is pathetic... teachers are miserable... attendance compulsory.. no college canteen. Have to study on your own.. teachers are no help... I'm regretting why I joined this college.. one year drop would have been much better... teachers don't know English! My college life is ruined.. oh god I can write whole book describing drawbacks of this college... I request you all never ever take admission in this college

1:The college is pathetic!
2:Kindly take a drop if you get admission here... your one year at home is totally worth it..!
3:Teaching staff is sick! Lack of knowledge... cannot speak in English... not helpful at all.! (in short.. you have to do all by yourself)
4:Attendance.. is mandatory it's worse than school days... unlike there.. attending was more fun!!
5:Campus.. this college doesn't know the meaning of that.. no playground... no canteen.. nothing like a college.!!
6:And as far campus selection.. well instead of blaming the incapability of college to recruit students.. students are blamed for lack of technical knowledge.. and hence are not placed!

PS: This college is nothing but hopeless!! Please don't take admission here.. (a sincere request for the betterment of your future)!

These are some good points about this college.
1. We can enjoy more
2. Classes are not mandatory
3. No canteen so we can take food anywhere and any time.
4. Teachers are not so strict.
5. We will get full term work marks without going to college.
6. We can consider as a part time college.
7. Zoin and Parakram sport events are full for enjoyment or can stay at home too
8. Even we saw movie in college time
9. Teaching and non teaching supports while in exam.
Aur kay bolu it's a good part time college only little bit fine we have to pay and can grant our sem.
