Koti Vidya Charitable Trust's Smt. Alamuri Ratnamala Institute of Engineering and Technology, Sapgaon
Location:
Koti Vidya Charitable Trust's Smt. Alamuri Ratnamala Institute of Engineering and Technology, fondly known as Koti College is located in Sapgaon about 7½ kms from Asangaon Railway Stn (CST-Kasara route, Central Rly). The college provides a bus facility but most students prefer the local ST buses because the college operated its buses only under certain timings. It takes about 35-40 mins to reach the college by ST bus and about 15-20 mins if you come by your private vehicle.
Infrastructure:
The college is newly established and the infrastructure is excellent. The entire campus has internet accessibility through wi-fi. Labs are well-equipped, clean and air-conditioned. Students beware of CCTV cameras!!
Fees:
Rs. 68,000/ year
Faculty:
The students do not seem to be happy with the faculty. Only the EXTC department supposedly has good and experienced. Other departments do not have permanent faculty. New professors with little or no experience keep joining and leaving.
Attendance:
Lenient. If you manage to keep it above 40%, it would just be enough. Even if you can’t it’s not something to worry, because you will just be given some extra assignments. However, if your parents are particular about this, you may be in trouble because a daily record of your attendance is sent via SMS to your parents.
Crowd:
Majority is from Dombivali, Kalyan, Thane, other central suburbs and also South Mumbai. A few students do take the courage to come from Western suburbs. The crowd is quite chilled-out and fun to be with. Hardly a few students are studious and nerdy. Very co-operative seniors.
Hangouts:
The college is right in the middle of farms and nothing can be found nearby. Students prefer travelling to Titwala or Khadavli for some recreation. One Harshigiri resort is nearby (4-5 kms)
Canteen:
The canteen looks like a typical dhaba. It is separated from the main building and serves quality food. It is decently priced with a Rs 15/- being charged for a sada dosa. However, it lacks space and gets too crowded during lunch hours.
Festivals:
Koti College celebrates is Technical festival Techfiesta in March. It is an inter college festival.
Placements:
The first batch yet to come out and nothing can be said till then.

Verdict:
If travelling is not your cup of tea, better take a drop and prepare well for the next CET. There is no point travelling so much to this college.
