Location & Infra:

TAPMI is located in the picturesque Manipal countryside. The infrastructure is pretty good, with air-conditioned lecture halls and a fantastic library. The hostels are well maintained as well. There are facilities for sports and recreation within the campus itself.

Fees & Placements:

The fee at TAPMI is roughly Rs.11 lakh for the entire duration of two years. However, students also have to factor in the food-expenses of about Rs.3000 per month.

TAPMI normally has fairly good placements. In 2011, the school once again boasted of 100% placements, with an average salary of Rs.8 lakh per annum. The highest package offered was Rs.13.5 lakh, while the lowest was a respectable Rs.6 lakh per year. Some of the major recruiters were KPMG, Deloitte, Wipro, Infosys, Citigroup, UB Group, etc.

Entrance Examinations and Courses Offered:

TAPMI accepts CAT scores, as well as GMAT scores for its admission process.

The courses offered at TAPMI are:

• Post Graduate Diploma in Management
• Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Health Care

Faculty & Pedagogy:

Faculty at TAPMI is quite good, as students will no doubt testify. Professors are vastly experienced, and have good exposure to the industry. There are a number of guest lectures and seminars which really give the students a good idea of life after an MBA.

Crowd & Campus Life:

In spite of TAPMI being one of the better B-Schools around, the crowd isn’t as bad as you would expect. There is a good mix of engineers and non-engineers, although the boys still outnumber the girls comfortably.

Campus life is chilled out, considering it’s Manipal. The course is pretty strenuous and demanding, but there’s always enough time to get out for a quick beer, and there are loads of places outside the campus where you can get one.

Summer Placements:

Most students at TAPMI get excellent summer placements, with more-than-decent stipends. The major recruiters are KPMG, Citibank, Accenture, Wipro, etc.

Verdict:

Good college, good crowd. It’s nothing extraordinary, but if you aren’t getting into the first-rung colleges like IIMs, FMS and IIFT, TAPMI is not a bad option at all.
