Location & Infra:
Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) is located in one of the most posh areas of Mumbai - Juhu. It is located close to Vile Parle station which connects it well to the rest of Mumbai by means of railways. Although it can’t boast of a huge campus (actually just a building), but it has good and well equipped classrooms. There is hostel facility provided by SVKM, the parent body which runs the institute, but the hostel is not within the campus (it's not too far either). The girls hostel is very good but the boys hostel is very OK. It is not necessary to stay in the hostel. Only outstation students are eligible for hostel.
Fees & Placements:
NMIMS Charges around Rs. 9 Lakh for the two year course.
372 students were placed with an average salary of 13.1 lakh.
There were 112 companies participating in the campus recruitment program. The major recruitment here too was in the finance and banking sector. Although other sectors too showed a very good response. The major which offered jobs were ICICI, JP Morgan Chase, ITC, L’Oreal, Wipro, KPMG, PwC, Deloitte, Cognizant, HCL, IBM, Accenture, Mindtree, GE, LnT and many other companies.
Entrance Exams and Courses Offered:
NMIMS conducts its own entrance test called the NMAT. Note that this is not to be confused with the NMAT conducted for the engineering course.
NMIMS offers a Full Time MBA program, which is further broken up into MBA in the Core program (finance, marketing, etc), MBA in Banking & Insurance, and MBA in Pharmacy.
They also have a specialized MBA program for family businesses.
Faculty & Pedagogy:
NMIMS is under the NMIMS deemed university so it has a good freedom to design its own courses. The course is defined in a manner to suit the current times. They are the pioneers in offering various sector specific courses. The faculty is good experienced one. The emphasis is laid on self-learning and a lot of research work from the corporate.
Crowd & Campus Life:
Majority of the crowd is from Mumbai. There is no campus as such so not much happens in case of sports or the various activities happening in the various institutes having hostels. The life is still great here because you get to stay in Mumbai. There are festivals which happen on the campus but they are of no comparison to other popular festivals. There isn’t anything to say about the culture at NMIMS, but that is not to worry about as it is compensated by the city life of Mumbai.
Corporate Connections and International Affiliations:
They have tie-up with Jindal steel, TCS, ICICI, Mercedes-Benz, Dr. Reddy’s for executive MBA program.
NMIMS also has tie-ups with universities like Athens University (Greece), Case Western University.
Summer Placements:
NMIMS has a good reputation for its summer placements. It being in the financial capital of the country the placements it gets are very good. Over 140 companies participated in recruiting interns. The avg. stipend offered was around 1 lakh.
Special Attributes:
One of a very good private B-school and also one of the only good B-school where living on campus isn’t compulsory. There are many specialised courses available and to find more about them visit the college website, as while you are reading this they might have conjured up another course.

Verdict:
A very good college to go for, very impressive placement figures. The only thing you lose out on is the campus life. If you want to stay in Mumbai this is maybe your best bet.
