Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP)

General Description:

The SNAP is a pretty simple paper-pencil test, conducted by the Symbiosis University for admission to a range of its B-schools.

Accepting Institutes:

  • Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune (SIBM)
  • Symbiosis Center for Information Technology
  • Symbiosis Institute of Operations Managements
  • Symbiosis Center for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD)
  • Symbiosis Institute of Telecom Management (SITM)
  • Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB)

Dates:

The exam is usually conducted on a Sunday in December every year.

Format and Peculiarities:

The SNAP has as many questions as the number of minutes allotted (150), so it’s essentially a test of your speed. Questions are more or less straightforward, so coming as close as possible to completing the exam should be an aim. There is also a section on General Awareness. Usually there are no sectional cutoffs. The general pattern is tabulated below:

Section

Allotted Time

1

General English: Reading Comprehension (RC), Verbal Ability, Verbal Reasoning

40

150 minutes, to be allotted as per candidate’s discretion.

Tips:

As must be pretty clear by now, you need to be real quick if you want to crack the SNAP. There’s no point wasting time on a question if it’s taking long to solve. Move on and be quick.

Another thing you should look to brush up is your general knowledge; they have a section dedicated to it.
