The students at Fairfield Institute of Management and Technology (FIMT) are absolutely dissatisfied with the faculty and teaching. Majority of the teachers are juniors with little or no experience and it’s difficult to understand their teaching. It feels like the teachers come to class with the only intention of completing the syllabus irrespective of whether or not the students understand. When it comes to awarding marks, most of the students are given the minimum passing marks in their internals. Only handfuls are awarded above average marks and for that they need to perform brilliantly.

The infrastructure is one thing that the college can boast about quite aloud. It’s got one of the finest buildings which are centrally air-conditioned and equipped with CCTV cameras and mobile phone jammers. Sound proof internet labs, amazing library fully equipped with variety of books are few of the things worth a mention. “It feels like a mall” says a student. Don't worry about the facilities you're going to be provided with here because you'll always be pampered. But frankly that's not what exactly the students want here.

Fairfield Institute of Management and Technology (FIMT) is located about 4 kilometres from the last Metro station on the Blue line – Dwarka Sector 21. It’s greatly inaccessible and regular commute is a headache for the students. Once you reach the Metro station, board a bus towards Kapashera Border and get down after a 10-15 minute ride at Kapashera Mod. From there get into one of the share ricks and ask them to drop you at Oberoi, another 10 minute ride. As if this wasn’t enough already, another 15 minute walk through a small village area waits for you before you get to the destination.

Again a part of the infrastructure, the students face absolutely no issues with the canteen. The food is tasty and the environment is hygienic. Also it is reasonably priced – everything except fried rice and chilli potato (which come for Rs. 25/-) is priced below Rs. 20/-

Fairfield Institute of Management and Technology (FIMT) is remotely located and there is hardly anything near to hangout except for two small snack joints. A favourite spot among the students is the famous 'Ambience mall' which is about 1-2 kms from here. “But first we need to get out of the college, which is almost impossible” says a disappointed student.

Students here hail mostly from Dwarka or West Delhi areas like Janakpuri and Uttam Nagar. Few students come from South Delhi and West Delhi for the obvious reason that it’s TOO far. The crowd generally tends towards a little mischievous kind and fights are seen to erupt over trivial issues.

Fairfield Institute of Management and Technology (FIMT) is one of the strictest institutes when it comes to attendance and discipline. It follows the general norm of 75% with utmost importance and students are heavily fined if their attendance goes low. The college gates are kept closed right from 9 in the morning up to 3pm and there is no free entry/exit for the students. Written permission is required to move outside the campus within class hours.
