I am also considering

University of Mass, amherst
University of Florida, Gainsville
University of Texas, Dallas
North Carolina State University

Could you help me categorizing them in Ambi--Mod--safe? I have tried the tool that you have developed (which is great by the way) and few of the ones that i am looking at did not pop up in the list.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Kashyap
I hope your university is recognized, because that kind of an aggregate from a good university is phenomenal! It'll really make your profile look, well, super!
As for the GRE scores, I think anything around 320 is an excellent score, and that's what you should aim at.

Here's what I think the list is like
Purdue, UT-Austin, CMU, Wisconsin - Ambitious
TAMU, UMass, NCSU, UMich - Moderate
Others - Safe

Good list, I think. Well thought out.

HI Siddhaarth

I am back.. but this time i have issues much more intense than i intended. I checked out the fee of most of the unievrsities and they are way above my head and many of the universities do not have spring intake. So i have shortlisted them and left with

Univ of Texas, Dallas
SUNY , Buffalo (stoney brook doesnt have spring intake :( )
Univ of Massachusetts
North Carolina State University
University of Maryland, college park ( Masters in Telecomm)

Can you comment on how these universities stand for MSin telecomm/electrical?

ESP univ of maryland cause it is a both technical and management based course. How are the job prospects for it??

Thanks in advance !

Good to have you back Kashyap.
See, ideally I would think you should perhaps consider applying for Fall as well, since the intakes are much higher.
I think NCSU is the best of the lot, but the Telecom program at Maryland deserves special mention as well. The placements in both are really good, so you dont have to worry too much. These are the two colleges you should aim for. Hopefully you'll get an admit from at least one of them, and then we can see what to do next if you have more options.

Hi siddhaarth

Actually the problem is that I am struck in an IT company. This isn't my field so whatever experience I am gaining is not of much use I believe.

So I want to get out of as soon as possible and also get into a decent university so that I can get some scholarship/aid as well.

Well UTD telecomm is one more option I am considering. I however feel that I can get into better universities but for my financial constraints I think I have to settle for one of the three.
