TOPIC: Preparation

Preparation 11 months 4 weeks ago #1

Hello Everyone,
I am working for the last 3 years after my B.tech. I want to give GRE to apply for fall 2013. My work is pretty hectic and its difficult to manage time for preparation. I wanted to know what is my scope to get admission for MS in environmental Engineering keeping in mind the work ex. Also, my acads are pretty good. But will the 3 years work ex. play its part-in positive or negative?
Secondly, to stick to some schedule for GRE preparation i was considering to join some coaching.
Any suggestions for classes in Hyderabad area (as other major cities are already mentioned on the website)?

Hi kirti
Oh, the 3 years work ex should certainly be a positive! Just make sure that you leverage well on it in your application. Also, the high academics are always a massive advantage.
About Hyderabad, I don't really know, I'm afraid. But to be honest, it's not difficult to prepare by yourself. As long as you can dedicate an hour or two everyday to studying, it shouldn't take longer than a month or so to be decently prepared for the GRE.

I would, personally, suggest there is NO need to join any classes. You just need to go through the wordlist, solve the BigBook, and a couple of computer adaptive tests. Classes will do the same and at a very fast pace which is wrong. Around 100 students in a class and the minute somebody gets an answer to the question, there is no point for you solving the sum. So avoid classes..!! It's simply not worth Rs. 10,000 to 15,000.
And terribly sorry for the late reply.
