NIET has average faculties. Although many of them are qualified and experienced, they either don’t know the subjects themselves or don’t know how to properly express themselves. Still majority of students are satisfied with the teachers as they’re really very co-operative and friendly when it comes to solving their doubts. But they are equally strict and make sure each and every student studies hard.

First year sit in the diploma college which is adjacent to NIET. Second year onwards students use the NIET campus which is very good in terms of infrastructure. There are 2 buildings in the campus and various departments are divided in these buildings. Although the classrooms are not air-conditioned, all other facilities like comfortable seats, projectors and white boards are there in excellent condition. There’s wifi connectivity all over the campus which you can freely use from your laptops or mobiles. There are a lot of books in the library and the seating arrangement also very good.

NIET is among few good colleges in Greater Noida and provides good placements. Statistics say that they have 100% placements and the average salary students get is around 3.5 lakh rupees. Computer Science and IT branches have better placements than the rest. Wipro, TCS and Infosys are regular recruiters here. So overall college gets good companies but it’s up to individual how to make the best out of the opportunity.

Noida Institute of Engineering Technology (NIET) is located in Knowledge Park 2 area of Greater Noida. It is quite inaccessible for those travelling from Delhi. The nearest metro station would be Noida sector 18 on the Blue line, which is about 40 minutes bus ride from the college. Those travelling from Noida and Ghaziabad opt for private buses, which drop you at Pari Chowk which is another 5 minutes’ walk from the college. However most people prefer to stay as a PG in areas nearby the college, which is a wise thing to do, considering it may take as much as 2 hours of travelling one way.

Canteen is extremely small; still there is a variety of tasty food served here. Students take this food and eat it sitting on the huge lawn. The prices are affordable. There’s only one thing that student find lacking which is the sweets and chocolates.

Ansal plaza is the favourite hangout of all the students studying in Greater Noida colleges, which is true for this college too. Apart from that there are a few roadside stalls where you can have Maggi, omelette, tea/coffee and ice-creams. There’s also a unique, secret place the terrace of their building where students like to sit for hours chilling with friends.

There are no festivals in this college. Students say that “college management doesn’t believe in celebrations, they only like the students to study, give exam, then study again, and so on”.

The UPTU norm for attendance is 75% and college also follows it strictly. Of course if you fall 2% or 3% short, no harsh action will be taken. But in general they’re pretty strict about it, and various actions can be taken against you ranging from deducting your internal marks to giving a year back.

NIET is one of the few good colleges in Greater Noida in terms of studies and placements. It could’ve been better had there been good extra-curricular activities.
