The HODs of all the departments apart from being qualified are well experienced too. And all the faculty members have a minimum post-graduation qualification. In spite of being fresher (as teachers) students tell us that they teach well, without any ego or attitude hassles. The college has setup an internal feedback mechanism in which every 15 days the Class Representative meeting is convened to discuss academic issues. The medium of communication is English.

For a college that is just 3 to 4 years old the facilities are better when compared to other colleges. All the departments have decent facilities. There is a book bank facility in which the student must pay Rs.3,000 for the whole course of which Rs.1,500 is refundable. The system is very good and the fee is also nominal. In addition to the book bank, there are 2 huge libraries which have ample space for students to study or read. High speed Wi-Fi internet connectivity is available but only in certain areas of the college.

The Pulla Reddy group organizes central placements for all its colleges. Companies DO NOT come individually to PREC. About 20% of the students get placed with salaries ranging from 15k-20k per month. The companies are the regular IT companies like HCL, Cognizant, BPOs of Google and Amazon. Mechanical students say that regular industrial visits are organized which leads to good exposure.

Pulla Reddy Engineering College (PREC) is about 80 Km from the city, and is thus not easily accessible. The college provides a bus facility. RTC buses are erratic and about one every half an hour yet are unreliable. Local transport operators run a parallel bus service in the areas around.

Hostel facility for boys is available on-campus. Dormitories are present in big halls on the top floor of the college building. The college canteen doubles as the hostel mess which serves only Andhra meals. The condition of the food and living facilities is slowly improving according to the students.

The crowd is largely from Andhra with a smattering of North Indian crowd from places like Gujarat, Bihar and UP. About 30% of the crowd is rural and the rest from Hyderabad. The class is very much united which increases the experience manifold. Mechanical Engineering branch has about 4 girls in 60 (nothing new) while in other branches the ratio around 4 in 10.

The technical fest is COGNIZANT and the other cultural fest includes events like ramp walk, Mr. and Ms. PREC. There are events like dandiya workshops and traditional dress competitions held after mid sems in the odd semester. Nothing is scheduled or fixed in terms of date and events. Events change every year depending on the ideas implemented by the Crs.

Pulla Reddy Engineering College (PREC) is very strict when it comes to attendance. If by the end of the semester you land up in the range of 65-75% a nominal condonation charge of Rs.350 is levied. Below 65% you need to call your parents and the regular procedure of warnings being given is inflicted upon students. Below 40% attendance, students are directly detained although they do inform parents about this grave situation. Other disciplinary rules include compulsory Shirts (which means no T-shirts!), roaming around in the campus isn’t appreciated either and getting into the campus before 10 is mandatory. Now it’s up to the students to comply with rules and stay out of trouble.

Pulla Reddy Engineering College (PREC) is an upcoming college and so cannot be compared to any other well established colleges in many ways. The college isn’t organized too well with things happening in a hap-hazard way. On the bright side matters are slowly improving. You could keep this option open but should definitely not be your top choice, at least as of now.
