Now in such a college you can’t expect Nobel Prize winners and Field Award recipients to teach you. Most of the faculty are just graduates or at best Post-Graduate M.Techs pursuing Ph.D. so they aren’t too experienced but manage teaching. “Some” junior professors actually teach well according to students. ECE and CS department has better professors comparatively and EEE is by far the worst. On the brighter side Profs are known to communicate in English at least.

Well, unfortunately there is no real development seen in the campus and the infrastructure facilities are not so good. The management is trying to develop steadily. Students say that the labs are good but fall short and need to be shared. All the different kind of specialized labs present in other colleges won’t be found here for sure. On the downside some of the labs are common to all students. The library is well stocked for the number of students using it. Majority of the books are old but updated and there is an accumulation of a number of authors though.

The concept of placements is itself unknown to this college. Placements here are scarse. Most students take the GRE to try and escape. The students say that the management is likely to start a placement scheme soon. The best part is the college website claims to have giants like Microsoft and GE among its recruiters which according to students is absolutely untrue and moreover amuses us as to why such companies would want to recruit from here at all. Again a total let down.

The “college” is located far away from the city. Transportation is a problem for those travelling from the city as RTC buses are infrequent. Most students travel by sharing autos or by bus which should not go beyond Rs.10 for travelling.

There is no hostel, no Wi-Fi and internet is exclusively for the staff. To sum up the state of affairs in one word; distressing!

Students say that the canteen is insufficient in its supplies and many times stuff gets over. Some students eat in the canteen only though. Food is OK and reasonably priced but there is hardly any variety.

Escaping home would probably be the best hangout. Yet if you do manage to find a good company, there are a couple of eateries around which are good places to chill, but not eat!

60% of the junta is from the villages around while 40% are from Hyderabad itself. People mix and are friendly, there is no discrimination. The number of freshers every year is lesser compared to other city colleges because most avoid this college. On the plus side the boy- girl ratio is 2:1 so guys if you want to chance your arm here’s your turf.

The college claims to have organized a 1-day cultural and 1-day technical festival which were on back-to-back days. However the students treated this more like an annual day celebration. A sports day is said to be conducted sometimes.

ATI like other Aurora institutes is strict as far as attendance is concerned. The minimum is about 70% and there is a penalty up to 65% below which they don’t let students sit for the exams. At 62-63% attendance they may consider allowing you to write though. At levels below 50% students are directly get a year back. Recently new rules of implementing a black and white uniform dress code have been passed. Girls and boys are made to sit separately (yuck!) and people avoid this completely because of the bad impression it creates (on the teachers).

A student whom we interacted with says “I wouldn’t even suggest to my enemy to come and join the college especially with a huge number of better colleges around”. From our side we would suggest the same and also repeating your entrance tests once again. This place is totally avoidable and the condition which it is in almost begs the prospective students to stay away. However much the college website shows numerous kids with smiling faces the truth is the college really doesn’t have much to offer and the future is likely to be bleak for you. DO NOT waste your money and four years here.
