Well, just like any other engineering colleges in the interiors of Maharashtra, Rajendera Mane College of Engineering and Technology is no special when it comes to teaching. Atleast 40% of the teachers are freshers. Mechanical Engg. department boasts of a very good faculty as compared to other branches. Some professors are stubborn while most lack communication skills. Many teachers are often seen teaching in Marathi. Overall faculty is not upto the mark and needs an immediate improvement.

RMCET campus is huge but not very well utilised. Most of the land spaces are left vacant with no beautiful garden or green landscapes. The classrooms are average and without an air conditioner. Fans, luckily, work. Benches are not broken. Wifi is encircled only around the computer labs which students find pretty annoying. The SBI ATM within the campus becomes extremely useful for any emergencies, especially to the hostelites. "The overall infrastructure is average and should focus on basic necessities like water, sufficient books in the library, strong wifi connection and decent hostels", says a second year student.

The placement scenario at Rajendra Mane College of Engineering and Technology (RMCET) is not promising. Overall the last couple of years only 15% to 20% of the students have secured a placement from the college. Recruiters like Mahindra & Mahindra, Oracle Pune, Country Club India Limited, etc. offer an average pay of Rs. 3 lakh per annum. "The placement cell needs improvisation. Better companies should start visiting the college in order to increase the placement ratio", quotes a final year student.

Rajendra Mane College of Engineering and Technology, popularly known as RMCET, is located in the remote areas of Devrukh, Ratnagiri. The college is around 20 kms from Sangameshwar Railway Station still, most students prefer to commute by bus which drops you pretty close to the college gate. Devrukh bus stop, around 6 kms from the college, is the most sought after path to travel to the college. RMCET is a famous college in the native of Ratnagiri and Devrukh Court and Ambav Lake are the popular landmarks.

Canteen food is pathetic. Eventhough it is pretty spacious, lack of variety and taste gives it a big thumbs down. Mess food is equally bad and becomes very difficult for hostelities to survive on the same. Lack of food joints in the vicinity of the college adds more to the trouble.

Owing to its interior location, the after-college life sucks! Most students are seen loitering around Ambav Lake which is possible the only hangout within some significant radius of the college. Another famous and noteworthy picnic spot is the Chandoli National Park. Inadequate food joints and mass pulling malls spoils the basic fun of college life.

Majority students at Rajendra Mane are from the interior regions of Maharashtra and thus you can expect a very less urban crowd in this college. Some students who come from big cities like Mumbai and Pune find it inconvenient and uncomfortable to adjust with the localities. However, a very strong camaraderie is displayed within the college. Boys to girls ratio is just like any other engineering college. Students lack powerful personality and hence are pretty weak in extra curricular activities.
Students from other parts of India are almost nil.

Rajendra Mane College is certainly not the top priority for any student who is aspiring to become an engineer. Lack of placement opportunities, inappropriate facilities and inexperienced faculties makes it one of the last choices for an engineering college. If you hail from one of the metro cities, avoid this college. Students say that the college is good for Mechanical and Automobile courses.

The written details are almost true. Because, I am also an RMCET college student. But some things like it does not contain urban students is not true.
