Teachers at Shri Andal Alagar College of Engineering are very strict. Teachers & students share a highly formal relationship; not friendly at all. They are willing to help but don’t expect to have any communication with them other than academic. The faculty is strict when it comes to assignment submissions and projects.

The vast campus of Shri Andal Alagar College of Engineering is spread over 75 acres. There are 2 main buildings and grounds for cricket, football & volleyball. The college also has provision for indoor games.
The classrooms and labs are decent. At a first glance the college quite impressive but interiors do let you down. The college library is well stocked. However seats are limited & not many students can study here at a time.

Placements at Shri Andal Alagar College of Engineering aren’t very impressive. Only IT companies come to recruit students here. CSC and Infosys are the major recruiters.
College conducts many sessions to hone soft skills & prepare them for placement processes.

Shri Andal Alagar College of Engineering (SAACE) is located in Mamandur village situated slightly off the GST. If you consider travelling from Chennai daily, please make sure you are ready to travel 60km one way. It is in fact even further than Chengalpet which is another city altogether.
Bus service is provided by the college caters to just a few parts of Chennai. Be sure that you are willing to spend 3-4 hours daily in the bus killing time doing nothing as you are expected to be maintaining proper discipline even in the bus. Bus fees are Rs 25,000 per year.
The college is near the highway so getting there isn’t a problem but travelling would be too exasperating.

Shri Andal Alagar College of Engineering does provide hostel facility. When asked about hostels to students, they seemed quite content with it. Rooms including the bathrooms are clean & tidy, which many a times is a problem with college hostels.

Most of the students rely on the mess food as they stay in the hostel. Food is decent, just edible. Many times due to monotony students prefer not eating at the mess. Since they dont have much options, they do rely on packed food many times and many times they are willing to go without a meal.

Due to college being located in Kanchipuram District, it attracts many students from there. A majority of the students stay in the hostels as they are coming from far off places. Some of the students who are from Chennai are wise enough to stay in hostels.
As far as academic matters are concerned, students are not very studious and overall college performance is also not very good.

VIRT YUVA is the annual technical symposium organized by students of Shri Andal Alagar College of Engineering. The symposium has paper presentation and a few other banal events. The symposium doesn’t get a very good participation from other colleges as it is too far placed. In fact many of the college students too are not very enthusiastic about the college fest. Overall it is a dull festival.

Shri Andal Alagar College of Engineering doesn’t really bother you if you have your attendance above 75%. If you fail to manage that, then you may have to face detention.
Wearing formal is compulsory and so is wearing black shoes that go along with the formals. College is a bit relaxed when it comes to boy-girl interaction as long as you don’t cross the limits.

There isn’t anything really great about the college. You should consider this college if, 1. You are staying in near the college (say within 15km) OR 2. Engineering is the only thing you want to do and the college doesn’t really matter.
