MJ College of Engineering & Technology (MJCET) is a reputed college in Hyderabad and renowned professors with over 15 years of experience continue to teach here. In the first or second year of engineering, you may have to bear with a couple of junior lecturers who're still polishing their teaching skills. However, third year onwards, senior professors ensure smoother learning. Some students do beg to differ, though. They claim that some senior professors, although knowledgeable and excellent at teaching, often refuse to come to class. Or even if they do, they merely debate with students on bizarre topics.

MJ College of Engineering is part of the bigger Sultan-Ul-Uloom Education Society's campus which also hosts a Pharmacy College, a Law College, a Junior College and a couple of other educational institutions. The engineering block caters well to all the academic requirements. Indoor as well as outdoor sports facilities are available for use. Though, small issues like intermittent Wi-Fi connectivity, slightly gloomy classrooms and occasional troubles with laboratory equipments prevail.

Companies like Infosys and Wipro recruit majority of students, mostly from CSE, IT, EEE and ECE departments recording over 70% placements for these departments. Graduates from core engineering fields like Civil, Mechanical and Industrial are not as fortunate and have to either settle with IT jobs or hunt for work in their respective fields on their own.

Road No. 3, Banjara Hills - perhaps the finest location any engineering student, or ANY student for that matter, would want his/her college to have. Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology, usually shortened to just MJ College of Engineering, is easily accessible through all means of transport. RTC buses like 19,49, 222 ferry most of those who don't commute by their own vehicles. There are no college buses here, but who needs them anyway!

Oh c'mon... it's Banjara Hills! There are HUNDREDS of places within a 5 km radius. Just 4 malls and multiplexes ensure that your cravings for movies, fast food, coffee, ice cream, games, shopping are all satisfied. And it doesn't end there - Pizza Corner, Chutneys, KFC, Barista, Coffee Day... the list goes on.

You will actually find the cream crowd of engineering at Muffakham Jah College of Engineering & Technology (MJCET) with an exciting blend of fashion, money and brains! Life at MJ is pretty cool. You meet all sorts of people and always end up with folks you like. Obviously, a lot of Muslims around because of the Muslim minority status. Students are ambitious, competitive and participate over enthusiatically in the festivals which mind you, are not extraordinary.

MJ College of Engineering is considerably relaxed about attendance and disciplinary issues, but it varies from department to department. Usually a 50-60% attendance gets you through (not in the EEE department which demands over 70%) or if you're in the Civil department, people claim to have scraped through with as low as 10% attendance. Unlike most other engineering colleges in Hyderabad, round-neck t-shirts are permitted and free movement in and out of the campus is allowed.
