Faculty consists of mostly new teachers but there are a few experienced senior staff too. A good thing here for the students is that the internal professors are helpful during the practical exams. The professors are friendly, ‘chilled-out’ in a students’ conduct, with them. They personally care about a student’s academic progress.  All the professors, new or old, are all nice and simple people.

Impact College of Engineering (along with the campus of Impact Polytechnic) is just about 5 years old with some blocks still under construction yet a pleasant campus to be in. The lectures are conducted in the main building and the various department labs are spread all over the campus.
There are indoor sports facilities which include carrom, Table Tennis and the Gymnasium room which is under construction. There’s also a television room and everyone has access to an internet connection for themselves.
For the learning part, the library has subscription to online resources, apart from the various textbooks and reference volumes.  The labs are equipped with the required instruments and the practical sessions are also performed unlike many other colleges.

Only one batch has graduated from the college, so commenting on the placements would be talking too early. But the college promises good placement, and also works towards it. There are placement training classes where students get the necessary grooming and soft skills lessons needed for the recruiting companies. Students say the placement last year was around 70% and students have got placed in IBM and DELL, with packages between 2 to 3 lakh per year.

Located in a rural setting, Kodigehalli, Impact College of Engineering is a 2 kilometer ride from the Bangalore-Hyderabad Highway off the Kodigehalii Main road. Around 18 to 20 KMs from Majestic in a BMTC bus followed by a ten minute walk will get you here. But only around 25% of the students here actually come from distance so long. Most of them are hostel-ites, so they do not have to worry about commutation. There are also a few students in every batch who have their own set of two-wheelers, and some come from as far as 45KM.

The college has its own boy’s hostel which is worth a short description. The hostels are absolutely unfurnished with rectangular cells which feel nothing better than a jail; and just a bare minimum bed for sleeping arrangement has been provided. Whether you stay alone or share it with a friend, the fees would not be shared. But the other facilities provided are good nevertheless. There are no water problems (even in summers) and the bathrooms are clean.

Tiffin service has improved a lot now after the students went on a strike against the canteen service provider. The students say that the erstwhile canteen provided good food for the staff and the management but not for the students.

Mantri Mall, in Kodigehalli, is a popular destination. Esteem Mall is another cool place to hangout. In places little further, students take trip to Shiva-Ganga waterfall, which is a trekking region. Ooty and Goa are popular among the hostel-ites for vacation.

To begin with just about one third of the students are from Bangalore. The rest are from outside Karnataka, mainly from Kerala. There are students from the North-east India and some also from Sri-Lanka. The crowd is very friendly, especially considering people from so many backgrounds living together at the hostel, or at the college. The crowd here is the types that consist of people with superb academic performance, and the same are also the liveliest and fun people around. So you can expect having a good time here.

The management, for some reason, tried to prevent hosting a festival but the students find out a way always through this, and celebrate.  New Year’s Eve, Christmas, Annual Day, Sports Day, and farewell are celebrated.

Impact College of Engineering, though away from the glam of other city colleges, is for those who want to study and enjoy life.  It’s not so bad if you can adjust to that kind of an environment.
