There's a good mix of senior and junior teachers at JSS Academy of Technical Education (JSSATE). Most of the junior faculty is assigned to the first years and thus students here are pretty much satisfied with the faculty. Mechanical and Civil departments are said to be the best of the lot.

JSS Academy of Technical Education (JSSATE) is part of the JSS campus which is spread over a huge chunk of land. The infrastructure on the whole is pretty awesome and students have no grudges against the academic facilities. However, they say that more provisions should be made for sports.

Computer Science (CS), Information Science (IS) and ECE record nearly 100% placements, with Mechanical, Civil and others following close at about 70% placements. Average salary is a modest Rs. 3.5L per year. Most recruitments are by the usual IT companies.

JSS Academy of Technical Education (JSSATE) is located off Uttarahalli-Kengeri main road. Although it’s far from the centre of Bangalore and takes about an hour or two from Majestic, accessibility is not an issue as BMTC buses ply close to the college at regular intervals of time. To name a few: 225C, 375A, 378, BC6. The college also provides bus services at Rs. 12,000/- per year.

Amongst the hostels, the newly made hostel for first years still needs to better some day-to-day facilities, but the other hostels are good. The girls’ hostel is very strict, no one is allowed to enter or leave sometimes even as early as 6:30 pm (perhaps for their own good, as the area appears barren with little public activity). Hostel fees are Rs. 54,000/- per year including mess food.

The canteen falls short of space during lunch time as it's pretty small to accommodate even the Engineering College students. And with the department of MBA and some more sister institutes inside the campus, havoc is sure to happen. The food is hygienic and affordable but only South Indian dishes are on the menu.

Once outside the college gates, there's nothing to be spotted within visible range except for a bus stop, a tiny stationery and a bakery shop which serves few selected items. So that's all where you can go (OR rather not go) if you have short periods of time to kill. For longer and more enjoyable trips, you need to travel to Banashankari or MG Road.

The crowd is predominantly South Indian with about 30% North Indians. Quite an enthusiastic lot though. All are friendly, approachable and easy to gel with.

Verve is the biggest festival celebrated at JSS Academy of Technical Education (JSSATE). It is an inter-college Techno-Cultural festival. A few sports events are also added up with the same festival.

JSS Academy of Technical Education (JSSATE) is quite particular about attendance and discipline. Students with attendance below 75% in any subject are detained. More stress is given on the lab attendance.

Academically JSSATE falls short of nothing but there's less encouragement for sports and various other activities. Yet, placements are amazing and the college should definitely be preferred among the top 10 engineering colleges in Bangalore.
