Students are full of praise for the faculty, so much so that they even have special praise for the principal! How often does that happen?! They claim that every member of the staff, from a peon to the principal, is extremely approachable and very friendly. The professors, both junior and senior, communicate in whatever language students are comfortable in, and are ready to give extra time to students to make sure they keep up. Teachers even make special notes for students. Wow.

The students are very, very happy with the infrastructure at Abhinav College. The classrooms are airy and decently maintained. The library is well-stocked, and has everything that students need. The laboratories are well-equipped as well. The campus is the best part, we feel. It’s full of greenery, and even has a little temple inside.

Located in Bhayandar East, Abhinav College is a 15minute walk from Bhayandar railway station. There are also a plethora of share-rickshaws available. It’s also a 5 minute bus-ride from the Western Express Highway.

When we asked students about their canteen, they were rather noncommittal. When we had a look, we knew why. Although it’s really cheap, the food is just not up to the mark. Students tend to live on vada pav, samosa pav, usal and missal pav, but that’s about it really.

The BSc crowd, although really nice, is also just way too busy to think about socializing too much. The Commerce and Arts crowd is really mixing though, and it’s very easy to make friends here. Most of the people come from in and around Bhayandar itself, so all you Townies may want to stay there itself.

This is one thing the college is terribly strict about. Students are expected to maintain at least 75% attendance. Blacklists are taken out every month, and parents are called. Either way, low attendance tends to reflect in your marks pretty poorly. Fortunately or unfortunately though, students normally actually manage to keep their attendance that high. Whether that’s because of good professors or the fear factor, we don’t know.
