Students are full of praise for the professors, who are qualified and experienced yet sweet and understanding, but they curse the fact that academics are given so much importance. Well, it’s an engineering college.

Although students often complain about the size of the campus, it’s probably slightly silly, since the campus is quite beautiful, really. Bharati Vidyapeeth COE definitely has better infrastructure than almost all other colleges under IPU, with excellent, air conditioned computer labs and libraries, reading rooms, and well-ventilated classrooms. Other laboratories aren’t so great, but normally serve the basic needs of the subjects. There aren’t too many facilities for sports, but they do have a rather huge ground. The campus is fully Wi-Fi enabled. Pretty cool.

The standard companies like TCS and Infosys are mass recruiters at BVCOE, and the packages offered are about Rs 3.5 lakh. Once in a while some companies do come in and offer salaries of about Rs 5 lakh, but they are normally core companies that come to recruit from specific branches like EEE/ECE.

One of the best parts of studying at Bharati Vidyapeeth COE must definitely be the fact that it’s SO easily accessible. Located right outside the Paschim Vihar East metro station (which means it’s found in Paschim Vihar), it’s also well connected by DTC buses, and a number of roads, so even students coming by their own cars don’t face any problems.

Absolutely amazing. Everyone here is in love with the canteen; most people say they come here only for it. The quality as well as quantity of the food is quite good, and the best part is that there’s a lot of variety, and everything is quite reasonable. Anything you eat here would probably make your day.

The college canteen itself is undoubtedly the most popular hangout, but other places of interest for students include Rajouri Garden, JwalaHeri market, Punjabi Bagh market, and Subhash Nagar.

The girl to boy ratio is about 1:4, which isn’t too bad considering this is an engineering college. Overall, the crowd isn’t great, and you have to really sift through a lot of dross before you can find some smart people. But all the students get along well together, fortunately. A note to boys – there’s no boys hostel, and you aren’t allowed to even Look towards the girls hostel. Not that there’s much to see there anyway, to be honest.

The Indraprastha University fest is held every year and is actively participated in by the college, but BVCOE also hosts its own fest every alternate year. All the committees like IEEE, CSI etc organize events in these fests, and the turnout is generally quite appreciable.

If your soft skills are good enough, it shouldn’t be a problem sweet-talking the professors even if your attendance falls below 30%. Of course, a number of threats are given and assignments are written, but no major action is normally taken. That said, most students attend a lot purely out of fear of the unknown, and 60% is widely considered as the Safe Mark.

The college is considered really good thanks to the Bharati Vidyapeeth tag, but very often it fails to live up to expectations. The management isn’t great, and seems to overdo the ‘disciplining’ sometimes.
