St Joseph College of Engineering has got a huge campus. However, the approach road from highway to the college is in a very bad condition. During monsoon or even after a light downpour this patch becomes rough and difficult to tread without getting your clothes dirty. There is a huge ground which has facilities for football, cricket, basketball and volleyball. Students were delighted that they were getting a P.T period to play on these grounds. Reminds of your school days doesn't it? Classrooms & labs are decent. Their library is resourceful.

Around half the batch generally gets placed in St Joseph CoE. Students said that Mechanical branch had better placements compared to computer related branches. Core companies also come here to recruit students.

St Joseph College of Engineering is located on NH4 about 37 km from Chennai just before town of Sriperumbudur starts. Connectivity by MTC buses is not great but that doesn't matter as it is compulsory to travel by college bus. Charges for this bus service are Rs 20,000 per year.

Crowd at St Joseph College of Engineering is mainly from Chennai and nearby areas. There are very few hostelites, all of whom are from Tamil Nadu only.

There are no cultural festivals, just the symposiums of each department.

First things first. Don't confuse this St Joseph College of Engineering with its more popular homonymous college under the Jeppiar group located on OMR. That is one of the top rated colleges of Chennai; while this is very humble in its comparison. Having said that, this St Joseph, which is under DMI group, is not a bad college. It can be considered if you can't make it to tier-1 or tier-2 colleges. And if you stay nearby.

I am a student from St. Josephs residential school,(DMI group).. once wee were taken to this college for some seminars and classes .. from that I came to know the HOD are also kind of boring and don't teach good.. they don't have enough stuff to teach even twelfth grade guys! So guys .. I don't think this college is good!
