Students say that except for Bio-Technology most of the departments are in dire need of efficient teachers. “Good professors are leaving and the new ones joining aren’t experienced much; they even problems while communicating in fluent English” says a student of the college.

It's a great college. I'm studying Mechanical Engineering here & I don't have any complaints with the college. It used to be a bad college but now it has become awesome and has great faculty.

A lot of construction is still underway in an around the campus of the college; so it’s still coming up and improving year on year. Labs are equipped with instruments which are working but not really updated. The library is also said to be lacking some necessary books. Classrooms are a little cramped up and benches feel uncomfortable.

I would agree with your comment if it was around 6 years ago but now New Horizon college of Engineering features in the top 15 colleges in Karnataka and placement in this college is record high of 95%. With the basic criterion achieved i.e.,60% aggregate in all the semesters, the companies which come in for the recruitment is a very large list. Visit this link for the info on the companies http://newhorizonindia.edu/html/Engg_html/Placement1.htm#RECRUITERS

And i have personally seen students getting placed in great companies, and now this is one of the best choice for a student who aspires in engineering.

They are said to be nearly 100% but not in any of the MNCs or core companies; just the regular IT companies offering Rs. 3-3.2L per year.

Located off the Outer Ring Road in Marathahalli, New Horizon College of Engineering (NHCE) is great in terms of accessibility as BMTC buses such as 333, 336, 500 and many more connect you to all parts of Bangalore.

Hostels are on campus and although they don’t seem to have any problems with electricity and water, rooms are pretty small to accommodate 3 people. Another major issue is ‘FOOD’; mess food has been really pathetic even after repeated complaints. “If something tasty is ever cooked and if they get appreciation for the same, they somehow make sure we never get that kind of food the next time” says one frustrated student. Hostel fees are around Rs. 62,000/- per year

The canteen serves only South Indian varieties; but food is tasty enough to go down the throat comfortably and not too highly priced either.

Except for a mall there isn’t anything much around the area. However, Old Airport Road is saviour for those who really want places to hang around.

“Sargam” is intercollege cultural festival which is celebrated pompously at New Horizon College of Engineering (NHCE). Other than that, hardly anything else calls for celebration.

At New Horizon College of Engineering (NHCE), you cannot afford to bunk too much, literally. They charge fines as much as Rs. 150 for every percent you fall below the mandatory requirement of 85%. “Fines have gone as high as Rs. 6,000/- for some students” quotes a student. But, fines won’t always get you through; if you’re having severe lack of attendance (around 50-60%) you can be detained.
Very strict disciplinary rules are another matter which seems to bother a lot of students.” I-cards to be compulsorily worn all day long, no slippers/chappals allowed and many more unwanted rules to collect fines from us have been introduced” comments a student. Hostels are as strict about their timings and rules.
